Product Description
Thiosalicylic acid, alternatively named o-mercaptobenzoic acid, exists as white triclinic crystals or a white solid. It dissolves readily in ethanol and glacial acetic acid, while being sparingly soluble in water.
It is employed in the synthesis of thioindigo-type dyes and acts as an analytical reagent for iron detection. Furthermore, it is used in the electroplating sector for corrosion prevention and surface finishing of ferrous metals, and also functions as a coloring agent within the ceramics industry.
