Product Details
Decabromodiphenyl oxide (DBDPO) is a white to pale-white powder with a molecular weight of 959.9 g/mol. Thanks to its exceptional flame retardant characteristics, it is widely adopted as a fire-proofing additive in plastics, textiles, electronic components and other products.
In accordance with the NFPA-704 hazard rating system, DBDPO is graded Health 2, Flammability 0 and Reactivity 0. This signifies moderate health risks, while it is non flammable and chemically inert under ordinary conditions. The compound features very low water solubility, which lowers the risk of leaching into water based environments. Even so, appropriate handling procedures are required to mitigate potential health hazards, particularly within large scale industrial operations.

Product Application
Decabromodiphenyl oxide is an inert additive-type flame retardant distinguished by outstanding thermal stability and economic efficiency. It is widely incorporated into thermoplastic and thermosetting resins, textiles, and adhesives.
Its major end-uses cover high-impact polystyrene, glass-reinforced thermoplastic polyesters and molding compounds, low-density polyethylene extrusion coatings, homopolymer and copolymer polypropylene, acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), nylon, and polyvinyl chloride (PVC).
