Product Details
Potassium methylsilanetriol has molecular formulas of CH₃K₃O₃Si (alternatively C₆H₆K₂O₃Si) with a molecular weight of around 208.41. It is commonly supplied as a colorless and transparent liquid, featuring a solid content of no less than 40% and a density of roughly 1.3. Fully miscible with water, it yields a highly alkaline aqueous solution.
This compound is mainly employed as a surface-modifying agent and catalytic material. It enhances the wettability, water repellency, and abrasion resistance of various substrates. Its key application scenarios are as follows: a penetrating waterproof agent for moisture-proof treatment of construction materials including concrete, masonry and gypsum products; a catalyst for organic synthesis reactions; and a hydrophobic additive utilized in cultural heritage conservation, wood modification, and water-borne coatings.
