Methyltriphenylphosphonium iodide (CAS 2065-66-9) is an organophosphorus chemical with the molecular formul C₁₉H₁₈ IP and a molecular weight of 404.22. Commonly appearing as a white powder, it is also referred to as triphenylmethylphosphonium iodide. This compound features a melting point of 183–188 °C (accompanied by decomposition) and a flash point of 235 °C.

Product Application
It is mainly applied in organic synthesis, such as the fabrication of pyrene-functionalized polyolefin materials for dye-sensitized solar cells, and catalytic synthesis of carbasugars and alkaloids. Additionally, it takes part in reactions including olefin oxidation to carbenes and dehydrogenative halogenation-Heck coupling reactions. For storage purposes, the compound should be shielded from light and preserved under an argon atmosphere.
